Get In Touch With Your Inner Child
What did you want to be when you were a kid? Really think about it. Do those aspirations or some aspects of them still resonate with you today? Your childhood holds a lot of clues and insight about what sets your soul on fire.
For me for example, I remember wanting to be a teacher. I loved the idea of getting up in front of a class and sharing knowledge and that’s something I’ve carried with me ever since. Although I don’t teach classes in the traditional sense, I’ve been teaching for years.
I taught children when I worked at a childcare center in college and I later went on to teach life skills to adults with developmental disabilities at my old 9 to 5 job. And now I teach personal growth and spiritual principles through this blog and my coaching program.
Look back at your childhood and I promise you’ll uncover some really groovy clues about your passion and purpose.
Use Jealousy for Good
Jealousy gets a bad rap for obvious reasons, but I’m a big advocate of using jealousy for good. Jealousy can actually be used as a tool for finding clarity because it literally shows you exactly what it is that you want. When you’re jealous of someone, it’s usually because you desire to do what they are doing.
The light you see in others is a reflection of your own light.
Gabby Bernstein says, the light you see in others is a reflection of your own light. Meaning that all the good, glowing achievements and accomplishments that they have are simply a reflection of what is possible for you too. You have that same capacity within you.
So the next time you find yourself feeling jealous of someone, ask yourself: what exactly does that person have that I want? What exactly do I admire about that person? What desires are they reflecting back to me? Identify the real reason why you’re jealous and soak up their good vibes. Use that positive energy to empower you and fuel you forward.
Find Your Strengths
Let’s drop the: how do I find my passion and purpose question for a second because, let’s face it, it’s pretty intimidating. Instead, focus on finding your unique strengths. What are you naturally really good at? What do other people constantly come to you for?
Your strengths are your strengths for a reason. They are meant to be used, shared, and brought to the light. No other human being on this planet has your unique skills, strengths, and talents. They are what make you, you. Your strengths will lead you to your purpose. I go more in depth on this in my How to Find Your Passion and Purpose e-book.
Instead of searching for your passion and purpose, ask yourself: how can I use my strengths in a way that I enjoy and will add value to the lives of others?
Get Still & Quiet
When we are desperately searching for clarity, we tend to get really obsessed with doing doing doing. We’re constantly trying to find our passion and purpose as if we’ve lost it and misplaced it somewhere. We’re afraid to slow down because we feel we’re so behind in life. But that way of searching doesn’t work.
Clarity doesn’t come in the busyness and frantic energy. Clarity comes when you slow the eff down and get still and quiet. Meditate. Journal. Pray. Go inward. Tune in. The answer is already within you. Your inner guide will come forth and speak to you when you allow yourself to just listen.
Take Action in the Direction of Your Dreams
I hate to tell you this but doing nothing and just sitting around complaining about how you can’t find your passion and purpose will get you absolutely nowhere. Your life won’t magically change. No one is coming to save you. Staying stuck will only keep you stuck. I share a really fun exercise for taking action in my How to Find Your Passion and Purpose e-book that will really help you tune in and uncover what your heart desires to be.
But it all starts with a decision. You have to make the decision to just move forward in one direction or another. Once you decide, clarity comes. The next step and the next step is revealed to you once you just decide to go for it. Stop wasting time, babe. Your time here on earth is precious and limited. The world needs what you have to offer.
Become More of Who You Are
Becoming more of you is your purpose. Let that sink in. Doesn’t that feel good? All you have to do to have purpose, passion, and meaning in life is to just be you. You don’t need any fancy credentials or validation from others. Just be yourself. Allow your truth and light to shine. Stop trying to find purpose and just embrace who you really are.

Get Clear on How Your Purpose Feels
In The Desire Map, Danielle LaPorte writes about getting clear on how you want to feel before anything else. Spend some time really thinking and tuning into how finding your passion and purpose will feel. Allow those emotions to come to the surface and hold them there. Feel them all the way to your core. Every time you tune into those feelings you are becoming an energetic match for what you want and thus you will attract it. Don’t wait around to find your purpose to feel purposeful.
